Need to Strengthen Cooperation ASEAN Furniture Market
Countries in Southeast Asia should work together to strengthen the furniture industry a strong market in the region, including when it comes to dealing with China.
"We now think of how ASEAN could become a strong community. We will create a market in their respective ASEAN countries," said Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Furniture Industry and Handicraft (Asmindo) Tjahyono Ambar in Jakarta, Friday (12/14/2012).
Ambar deliver it at a press conference on the sidelines of the implementation of the ASEAN Furniture Industries Council-Working Committee Meeting (AFIC-WCM) which will take place from 14-16 December 2012.
Ambar said, each ASEAN country has the advantages of each. "We will discuss how on one side of each ASEAN country to compete, but on the other hand there are opportunities to enhance cooperation in strengthening the ASEAN market, especially when we have to compete with China," said Ambar.
AFIC is a strong organization and every year hold a meeting to continue to strengthen ASEAN. The meeting, which was held in Jakarta in 2012 was a meeting to-25.
All the delegates from ASEAN, with the exception of Laos who have not entered AFIC, attended the meeting. "We see the world economy now fled to Asia and particularly ASEAN. This is an opportunity," said Ambar.
